Wisconsin's Next Governor: Which Candidate Supports REALTOR® Priorities?

See why the WRA endorsed Tom Tiffany for Governor.

2026 Governor Candidates Issues Chart_FINAL_edited

David Crowley's Fair Deal for Wisconsin Renters includes rent control and would replace Wisconsin's consistent statewide landlord-tenant framework with a patchwork of local regulations that vary from community to community.

Read more here. No state in the country has enacted all these mandates— only California and New York come close.

What is rent control?

  1. Government limits how much landlords can charge for rent

  2. Designed to keep rents more affordable for tenants

  3. Wisconsin law currently prohibits rent control

Rent control doesn’t work because it

  1. Discourages investment in rental housing

  2. Reduces the construction of new housing

  3. Can lead to housing shortages over time

  4. Doesn’t create more housing

The best solution to high rents and home prices is to build more housing and increase supply. Learn more about rent control at wra.org/rentcontrol.

The future is decided by those who participate. Remember to vote on November 3.
